Clevelander - Hotel Sales Manager

|Description:||The Sales Manager is responsible for identifying and capturing new and repeat group business. |
|Duties:||•Maximize Group Sales revenues by selling the Clevelander, Essex House, and Marlin Stadium experiences.|
•Identify Group Sales revenue / exposure opportunities that may take place outside of the three preceding locations.
•When necessary, assist in the on-going planning and execution of contracted groups.
•Plan and execute internal special events and meetings with Sales Event Manager as requested.
•Contracting catering only groups, guest rooms’ only groups, and groups that are a combination of both catering and guest rooms.
•Perform sales calls via telephone and site visits for prospective hotel and event business.
•Conduct periodic, targeted sales blitz efforts.
•Work side by side with the Marketing Department to ensure the Sales program and collateral is fully on brand, and that it is supported accordingly via all channels available that are cost effective, and provide the greatest opportunity for return on investment.
•Work with the Marketing Dept. to identify all additional exposure opportunities via participation in local or regional events & advertising opportunities.
•Work side by side with Revenue Manager to ensure focus is placed on securing new or repeat business during times that are identified as being traditionally or uncharacteristically slow periods in the hotel.
•Work side by side with Entertainment, IT, and Safety to ensure successful events are produced.
•Communicate regularly with Food and Beverage to ensure Sales Event Manager is properly communicating all necessary information to produce a successful event.
•Communicate regularly with Food and Beverage on service successes and provide constructive feedback where necessary improvements must be made accordingly.
•Obtain event contract and deposit(s) accordingly and ensure final complete payment is received pre / post event.
•Attend local Miami Beach and surrounding area networking events to maximize selling opportunities and build relationships
•Active participation with third party memberships to maximize selling opportunities and build relationships.
•Ensure the Sales Event Manager is properly servicing all contracted groups.
•Ensure the Sales Event Manager is meeting all expectations outlined within the Sales Event Manager job description.
•Participate in and/or conduct scheduled meetings accordingly with Dir. Of Hotel Ops and Sales Event Manager
•Ensure all necessary documentation is completed, maintained, and approved with property and client signatures.
•Ensure all necessary tracking and reporting of all revenues and expenses for each group event is completed.
•Ensure weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales reporting is completed and accurate.
•Build and maintain on-going relationships with new and repeat group clients.
•Ensure budgeted revenue figures are obtained and expense management controls are effective and in place to minimize expenses and maximize profit margins.
•Maintain and ensure compliance of all policies and procedures.
Work is not performed in an office environment and requires evening, weekend and holiday hours. Extended periods of standing, walking is required. Executing outside venue events is required to meet guest needs and expectations.

•Thorough knowledge of Event/Sales operations
•Ability to perform statistical analysis and reporting as required.
•Computer knowledge and proficiency required, i.e. word, excel
•Must possess exceptional oral and written communication skills to interact effectively with guests and staff
