Nightclub Safety and Risk Manager is responsible for ensuring the property is exceptionally clean, safe and secure at all times. This position reports to the Director of Safety and Risk and works a varying schedule that includes some afternoons and some nights. This position is heavily involved in training and on-boarding new team members as well as supervising, directing and developing current team members to perform to the company's high standards.

Clevelander is a popular hotel, bar, restaurant and nightlife venue located in the heart of South Beach. Candidates can expect full time work, year round in our beautiful outdoor environment.
Duties:Duties and Responsibilities:
•Oversee all nightclub and overnight safety and security operations and functions to include; maintaining the safety and security of guests, team members and Clevelander/Essex House Hotels; promotion of safe working practices; systems use and management; lost and found; department management; adherence to federal, state and local standards; and additional functions as required by executive leadership.
•Direct and administer the walkthrough of the interior of the hotels and parameter of the property and food and beverage areas to observe and identify potential safety risks, security risks and undesirable conditions.
•Direct and lead investigations/interrogations of accidents, thefts, property loss and unlawful activities.
•Direct response to emergency situations including; safety hazards, fires, medical emergencies, and threats to life and/or property.
•Coordinates with the Senior Safety and Risk Manager to determine and manage staffing levels to provide a safe and secure environment for hotel functions, events and promotions/productions.
•Maintain labor hours according to company budget guidelines.
•Monitor and develop team member performance including; provision of supervision, scheduling, coaching and counseling, evaluations, and rewards and recognition.
•Work alongside Safety team members to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations are maintained.
•Assist in the training and development of Safety team members.
•Ensures compliance of all safety training as required by state, federal law.
•Inspects hotel systems to ensure proper usage and required results; makes necessary modifications accordingly.
•Serves as Safety/Loss Prevention resource for the Clevelander/Essex House Hotels during the overnight shift.
•Assists in general liability/worker’s compensation claims administrative process by accurately investigating, recording and communicating incidents and cataloging evidence during the shift.
•Communicates with executive leadership and management progress updates, trends and challenges within the Safety department.
•Oversee the administration and accuracy of all required written reports and documentation.
•Ensures nightly closing duties are completed as per department guidelines.
•Serve as the primary liaison for federal, state and local law/code enforcement.
•Supports and maintains OSHA, EPA and other programs in compliance with state, federal and local law compliance.

Qualifications:Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•Comprehensive knowledge of Nightclub Safety/Risk operations, policies and procedures .
•Good leadership and interpersonal skills.
•Strong organizational and time management skills.
•Ability to work under pressure and remain calm in high stress situations.
•Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills.
•Computer knowledge and proficiency required, i.e. Excel and Microsoft Word.

Minimum Qualifications:
•21 years of age, High school diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
•4 years of related experience; State/local Security Certification/Licenses preferred.
•Basic CPR/First Aid Certification preferred.
•Must be fluent in both written and spoken English language with ability to print legibly.

Working Conditions:
•Work is not performed in an office environment.
•The position requires evening, weekend and holiday hours/shifts.
•Extended periods of walking and standing are required.
•Work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of noise, crowds and smoke, the severity of which depends upon capacity levels in guest areas.
•Work indoors and/or outdoors, exposure to hot and/or cold surfaces, and wet floors.
•Involves constant public contact and continuous exemplary service.
