Safety & Risk Administrator

Responsible for the administration of the risk management program ensuring that risks are proactively identified and mitigated, while supporting overall business operations and goals.
|Duties:||Duties and Responsibilities:|
•Collaborate and work across all departments and functions to address any potential risks that present a hazard to health or safety of guests and team members.
•Responsible for the compliance of the Safety and Security policies and procedures by the hotel guests, customers and associates.
•Responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of incidents, ensuring all documentation relating to an incident is gathered
•Responsible for the hire, training and development of the Safety Department Team Members.
•Implements and manages the Loss Control Program.
•Implements and manages the programs for hotel property signed out to associates (i.e. keys, radios, etc.)
•Serves as Safety/Loss Prevention resource to the Clevelander/Essex House Hotel.
•Assists in general liability/worker’s compensation claims administrative process.
•Advises hotel management and associate on progress, trends and challenges regarding Hotel Safety.
•Participates in safety board, documents minutes and follow up on required action plans.
•Trains all hotel/restaurant staff with regards to safety and security procedures/programs as to their individual job responsibilities and duties within the law.
•Maintains OSHA, EPA and other programs in compliance with state, federal and local law compliance.
•Coordinates training with outside agencies as required by state, federal law for compliance.
•Coordinates hotel safety programs: i.e. Worker’s Compensation, MSDS, Safety awareness,
•Train all new hires at orientation on safety processes, procedures and protocol.
•Inspects hotel systems to ensure proper usage and required results; makes necessary modifications accordingly.
•Exercises discretion and independent judgment in the completion of job duties related to matters of significance.
•Performs other duties as assigned
•At least 21 years of age, High school diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
•2 years of related experience; State/local Security Certification/Licenses preferred
•Basic CPR/First Aid Certification preferred.
•Bi-lingual candidate (Spanish/Creole) preferred

•Good leadership and interpersonal skills
•Knowledge of Safety/Risk operations, policies and procedures as it relates to a hotel/bar/restaurant
•Strong organizational and time management skills
•Ability to work under pressure and remain calm in high stress situations
•Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
•Excellent oral and written communication skills
•Computer knowledge and proficiency required, i.e. Excel and Word
•Knowledge of windows based office software
•Able to work flexible schedules
•Work is regularly not performed in an office environment. Position is required to be visible throughout the hotel property to the customer, guests and associates. The position requires evening, weekend and holiday hours/shifts.
