Safety Operations Manager

The Safety Operations Manager is primarily responsible for ensuring the consistent application and execution of protocols that enhance the safety of, and mitigate the exposure of risk, for all Team Members, Guests, and any others who are within any of Clevelander’s venues.
|Duties:||AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:|
+ Responsible for leading and executing daytime safety operations to include daily setting up of property, daily safety reporting, property walk-throughs, updating and communicating safety logs, and partnering with Director of Safety & Risk and Director of Culture, Resources & Compliance to document and communicate risk mitigation strategies.
+ Direct and administer the walk-through of the interior of the hotels, parameter of the property, and food and beverage areas to observe and identify and resolve potential safety risks, security risks, and any other type of undesirable conditions.
+ Collaborate with Director of Culture, Resources & Compliance to conduct any investigations into accidents, thefts, property loss, or other unlawful activities.
+ Directly respond to any and all calls for safety to include: safety hazards, fires, medical emergencies, and threats of life/property or overall safety.
+ In partnership with Director of Safety & Risk, responsible for the development and delivery of continuous training for the Safety & Risk Team: develop Training Plans, Skill-Building Exercises, and documents performance for all Team Members within the department.
+ Ensures compliance for all safety requirements and training as required by law: CPR, OSHA, Inn Keeper, Dram Laws, EPA, etc.
+ Conducts periodic Safety Audits across all areas of Clevelander Operation; responsible for identifying breakdowns and working with Department Leaders to ensure proper and timely resolution. Partners with Director of Culture, Resources & Compliance to Co-Chair Quarterly Safety Meetings during which safety concerns and results of Safety Audits are discussed and solutions identified.
+ Responsible for overseeing all documentation within the Safety & Risk Department to ensure accuracy of data and proper evidence gathering protocols are consistently adhered to. Reviews all Incident Reports and evidence gathered to ensure that all Incident Files are complete.
+ Develops and administers monthly Safety Training Program across all aspects of Clevelander Operation, ensuring that training is properly documented.
+ Communicate, support, uphold and exemplify the company’s Culture and Core Values.
+ Support and maintain OSHA, EPA, WC, and other programs in compliance with state, federal, and local laws in partnership with Director of Culture, Resources & Compliance.
+ Assists Director of Culture, Resources & Compliance in the administrative process of responding to and managing general liability and worker’s compensation claims by accurately and thoroughly investigating and interrogating claimants, recording, and communicating incidents.
+ Has a genuine passion for the hospitality industry and is an accomplished Safety Leader.
+ Possess advanced knowledge of principles and practices of safety, security, and risk within the hospitality industry.
+ Creates and exemplary climate of professional and personable service while working in a dynamic culture ensuring a high level of satisfaction for Team Members, Guests, owners and investors and other partners.
+ Possess an exceptional work ethic, is resourceful, and has the ability to work independently and collaboratively to build effective and loyal teams.
+ Strong written and oral communication skills, including effective listening skills.
+ Excellent proficiency with computer systems, especially MS Office.
+ Possess a high drive for results; has the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of detail orientation.
+ Minimum of five years safety and security experience in a high volume business; with at least two years in a management capacity.
+ Thorough knowledge of all federal, state, and local safety laws and regulations, including industry standards for safety and security protocols.
+ Work is performed in an outdoor nightclub environment and requires weekend and holiday hours as business dictates. Occasionally there may be a need for availability at night.
+ Extended periods of walking and standing is required.
+ Ability to lift and carry weight in excess of 20lbs.
+ Sound levels exceed those of a typical hospitality environment.
+ During peak operating times, extended time outdoors may be required in varying weather conditions.
