Staff Accountant - Clevelander Hotel

Description:The Staff Accountant performs accounting tasks and related duties and special projects as assigned by Senior Accounting Manager in an upbeat office environment. This person is committed to accuracy, highly accountable, shows initiative and works extremely well as part of a cohesive team. Hospitality, travel and/or tourism experience is a plus.
Duties:•Responsible for counting daily cash from food, beverage, hotel and other revenue centers
•Prepare daily bank deposits
•Distributes change on the floor during the night
•Verify and distribute cash for daily bar banks
•Monitor and replenish hotel front desk petty cash banks
•Perform weekly audits of hotel front desk petty cash banks
•Perform weekly audits of Food & Beverage Manager banks
•Prepare, receive and verify weekly cash change orders
•Responsible for customer credit card chargeback requests
•Maintain Customer Chargeback Control Log
•Distribute lost chargeback dispute documentation to Director of Finance, Director of Operations, Director of Rooms and Director of F&B
•Prepare Monthly Chargeback Report for Monthly Financial Reporting Package
•Receive, log, research and respond to all guest phone calls regarding charges
•Pick-up and distribute the hotel mail on a daily basis
•Responsible for reconciling wrist bands from cover charge events
•Performs all other accounting related duties and special projects as assigned by Senior Accounting Manager
•Maintains and ensures compliance of all policies and procedures
•Perform weekly direct billing receivable for all A/R Vendors
•Post incoming Accounts Receivable cash receipts daily or as received
•Make weekly collection calls for any outstanding invoices
•Make follow up calls to make sure that invoices were received one week following invoicing
•Prepare on a daily basis an aging report with expected payment dates for each of the outstanding invoices.
•Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:
•Must be 21 years of age
•Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting OR
•High school diploma and 3 years of related cash handling/accounting experience
